Maybe there's lessons here for new vehicles too? Having made a living out of getting stuck on beaches and in mudholes, crawling through snow slush and sucking up desert dust, Roothy has worked out a few techniques for keeping the corrosion out and letting the vehicle last as long as it possibly can. The original Milo retired with over 1 million kms on the original body and chassis/ For the first 200K it was the local scout vehicle, driven on the local beaches and through SEQ bush. Then the rest was done all over Australia. Thirty six years of rough tracks, water crossings, tidal creeks and rocky hills, but when she was retired it wasn't rust damager - although there was plenty - it was metal fatigue that got to everything. Thank you Lanotec Lanolin! The Vikings couldn't have scared the world without you!
